Minutes of the Parish Council Meeting held on Monday 3rd October 2022 at St. Peter’s Church, Louth Road, South Somercotes

Item 1022/118   Chairman’s Welcome 

The Chairman opened the meeting at 6.22pm and welcomed everyone to the monthly meeting. 

Item 1022/119 Public Forum

No Members of the Public were in Attendance and no Matters Raised under this Item.

Item 1022/120 Apologies & Acceptance for Absence

Apologies were received & accepted from Cllr Mrs Pauline Jackson, and District Cllr Mr Paul Rickett.

Item 1022/121 Police Matters   

No representative from the Local Neighbourhood Policing Team were in attendance. No update to report to the Parish Council was received for this meeting.

Item 1022/122 District & County Councillor Updates

County & District Cllr Mr McNally reported: £5.5m has been allocated to roads, an extra to the budget. Raw materials e.g. tarmac has increased by 30%. There has been a delay in the delivery of the purple lidded bins. South Somercotes & Scupholme have had delivery but some areas are still to be delivered. LCC cost of living help available for those eligible, further details on LCC website.

Item 1022/123 Declarations of Pecuniary Interest in accordance with LGA 2011

None.

Item 1022/124 To Resolve as Minutes the record of the meeting held on the 5th September 20

It was proposed by the Vice-Chair Cllr Mrs Day, seconded by Cllr Mrs Poulter and resolved that the Minutes of the meeting held on the 5th September 2022 were a true record. The Chairman duly signed & dated the Minutes.

Item 1022/125 Chairman’s Report

The Chairman had no specific matters to report.

Item 1022/126 Clerks Report

BT Kiosk – Awaiting update from Northern PowerGrid should hear in the next couple of weeks. An energy supplier will need to be sourced. It was agreed to re-quote for the Defibrillator and proceed to purchase if agreeable in order to get the equipment in place even it the power has not been turned on as the defibrillator will still work. The power is required to maintain temperature during severe cold winter conditions.

Item 1022/127 Parish Councillor Reports

The Vice-Chair, Cllr Mrs Day handed in £7.40 which had been collected from the Book Stall.

Item 1022/129 Planning Matters

Update on Planning Application for Church Farm: Awaiting Planning Officer.

Item 1022/130 Highway/Lighting/Footpath Matters

Cloddygate road is breaking up with large cracks due to subsidence. The footpath on Town Street and on East Row has been re-photographed and reported directly by Cllr McNally.

The dip at Billingsgate junction is still outstanding for repair and causes a hazard for motorists.

Complaints had been raised for the repairs carried out on the far side of East Row. Cllr Mr McNally will investigate.

Item 1022/131 Jubilee Field & St. Peters Church

The Tree Guy has agreed to cut the front of St. Peters Church before Remembrance Sunday. Agreed cost of £40.00. Contact details were given for an alternative contractor to cut the grass at St. Peters Church following notification that MLD would be unable to carry out the work.

The Vice-Chair has spoken to Twink who will contact the CCT to replace the light bulbs that have blown in the church (4).

Remembrance Sunday 13th November 2022 – A Poppy Wreath will be laid at the memorial and refreshments will be served after. 

Davinia Parkes from Hoopers has kindly stored the marquees with thanks given and the water heater plus signs for the fete are gratefully store with the Chairman.

Somercotes Fete – Held on Saturday 10th September 2022 

After expenses, the total amount raised was £620.28.

Item 1022/132 Reports from Outside Bodies

Apologies had been received from the Communication regarding the missed details not published for the Scarecrows.

Item 1022/133 Next Meeting – Monday 7th October 2022

The Parish Council Resolved the next monthly Parish Council Meeting will be held on Monday 7th   November 2022, commencing at 6:30pm with the Public Forum. 

With there being no further business, the Chairman closed the meeting at 7.02pm.
