Minutes of the Parish Council Meeting held on Tuesday 3rd December 2019 at St. Peter’s Church, South Somercotes

Public Forum

No members of the Public were in attendance and no matters raised.

Item 1219/156   Chairman’s Welcome 

The Chairman opened the meeting at 6.29pm and welcomed everyone to the Parish Council meeting.

Item 1219/157 Apologies & Acceptance for Absence

Apologies were received from District Cllr Mr Paul Rickett.

Item 1219/158 Police Matters

No representatives from the Local Neighbourhood Policing Team were in attendance and no feedback received to report.

Item 1219/159 District & County Councillor Updates

District & County Cllr Mr McNally reported on the new equipped Fire Engines in service. Offers on the Call Connect Bus Service over the Christmas period.

Cllr Mrs Poulter asked on the trip to the recycling centre, an answer to the enquiry will be given shortly and arrangements in the new year to possible visit North Somercotes Primary School on recycling.

With no further matters, District & County Cllr Mr McNally wished the Parish Council a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year then left the meeting at 6.40pm.

Item 1219/160 Declarations of Pecuniary Interest in accordance with LGA 2011

None.

Item 1219/161 To Resolve as Minutes the record of the meeting held on 5th November 2019

It was proposed by Cllr Mrs Benton, seconded by Cllr Mrs Duma and resolved that the Minutes of the meeting held on the 5th November 2019 were a true record. The Chairman duly signed and dated the Minutes.

Item 1219/162 Chairman’s Report

The Chairman had no specific matters to report under this item.

Item 1219/163 Clerks Report

The Clerk reported that the BT Kiosk is still work in progress. The ELDC dog warden was notified of the dog fouling problem on paths around the village. The dog warden will carry out spot checks. 

Item 1219/164 Parish Councillor Reports

Cllr Mrs Duma handed in £9.00 that has been raised through the Book Stall in St. Peters Church.

Cllr Mrs Poulter updated the Parish Council on the recycling project that the Youth Council have been working on. Clarification on Minute taking for the Youth Council meetings was given.

Item 1219/167 Highway/Lighting/Footpath Matters

No specific matters were raised.

Item 1219/168 Jubilee Field & St. Peters Churchyard

It was agreed that the grass-cutting services are to cease and recommence in the spring.

Item 1219/169 Reports From Outside Bodies

Remembrance Sunday small gathering on Sunday 10th November 2019 at 11am, St. Peters Church with refreshments served afterwards. Cllr Mrs Benton will arrange assistance if possible, to help with the refreshments and mulled wine. A storage box for the crockery stored at St. Peters is needed. The Clerk will organise a suitable container and bring to the Church.

Item 1219/170 Next Meeting –  Tuesday 7th January 2020

The next monthly Parish Council Meeting will be held on Tuesday 7th January 2020, commencing at 6:30pm at St. Peter’s Church, South Somercotes. 

With there being no further business, the Chairman closed the meeting at 7.07pm.
