Minutes of the Parish Council Meeting held on Tuesday 3rd March 2020 at St. Peter’s Church, South Somercotes

Public Forum

No members of the Public were in attendance and no matters raised.

Item 0320/31   Chairman’s Welcome 

The Chairman opened the meeting at 6.30pm and welcomed everyone to the Parish Council meeting.

Item 0320/32 Apologies & Acceptance for Absence

None.

Item 0320/33 Police Matters   

No members of the Local Neighbourhood Policing Team were in attendance and no update or report has been received. No matters were raised.

Item 0320/34 District & County Councillor Updates

District & County Cllr Mr McNally Reported:

LCC Budget 2020/2021 – An additional £4m has been allocated to Highways. This was reported at the February Parish Council meeting. The amount will be able to provide 16 extra Highway Gangs next year to be able to carry out additional maintenance and pothole repairs.

Lowering Carbon Emissions – £350k will be set aside for a ‘green masterplan’ with LCC aiming to become carbon neutral by 2050 or sooner if practically possible.

HealthWatch Lincolnshire – Has changed their name ton HW Lincs and have formally appointed a new Chairman (Dr.Maria Prior) to steer the Charity forward helping to deliver the Healthwatch Lincolnshire contract along with other ventures. 

Item 0320/35 Declarations of Pecuniary Interest in accordance with LGA 2011

None.

Item 0320/36 To Resolve as Minutes the record of the meeting held on 7th February 2020

It was proposed by Cllr Mrs Duma, seconded by Cllr Mr Duma and resolved that the Minutes of the meeting held on the 7th February 2020 were a true record. The Chairman duly signed and dated the Minutes.

Item 0320/37 Chairman’s Report

The Chairman had no specific matters to report.

Item 0320/38 Clerks Report

The Clerk reported on the correspondence received including upcoming events.

Item 0320/39 Parish Councillor Reports

Cllr Mrs Poulter reported that the Youth Council are drafting a letter to LIVES to help towards obtaining a defibrillator for the Parish. Cllr Mr McNally advised that the last funding round has been used and in April the next round of funding will be open for applications. Cllr Mrs Poulter advised that any funding would be helpful and ideally two defibrillators would be needed for the Parish.

District & County Cllr Mr McNally then left the meeting at 6.53pm.

Cllr Mrs Poulter reported that the Youth Council are also planning to host an Art Day, inviting children from the Parish for a couple of hours in the holidays. There have been willing volunteers to assist. The Youth Council have also tidied and organised the storage area within St. Peters Church.

Cllr Mr Duma reported that attention on the latch connection to the entrance door at St. Peters Church is required. The CCT will be notified.

Item 0320/40 Financial Matters

March 2020 Expenditure: MKB Environmental Services – Jubilee Field Mole Removal  £100.00. 

It was proposed by Cllr Mrs Duma, seconded by Cllr Mrs Poulter and Resolved to pay the above invoice as detailed.

Item 0320/41 Planning Matters

None.

Item 0320/42 Highway/Lighting/Footpath Matters

None.

Item 0320/43 Jubilee Field & St. Peters Churchyard

It was Resolved to cut the grass on the Jubilee Field a.s.a.p. and then fortnightly. For May, a decision will be made to increase the cuts to once a week or remain on a fortnightly basis. It was noted that one of the benches on the Jubilee Field was knocked over, this has been re-erected.

None. 

Item 0320/45 Next Meeting –  Tuesday 7th April 2020

The next monthly Parish Council Meeting will be held on Tuesday 7th April 2020, commencing at 6:30pm at St. Peter’s Church, South Somercotes. 

With there being no further business, the Chairman closed the meeting at 7.12pm.
