Minutes of the Parish Council Meeting held on Tuesday 11th May 2021 at St. Peter’s Church, Louth Road, South Somercotes

Item 0521/01   Chairman’s Welcome 

The Chairman opened the meeting at 6.30pm and welcomed everyone back to a face-to-face meeting. 

Item 0521/02 Public Forum

No members of the Public were at the start of the meeting. 

Item 0521/03 Apologies & Acceptance for Absence

District Cllr Mr Paul Rickett and PC Richard Precious.

Item 0521/04 Police Matters   

No members of the Local Neighbourhood Policing Team were in attendance. No matters were raised. An update was received from PC Precious after the meeting was held. 

Item 0521/05 District & County Councillor Updates

District & County Cllr Mr McNally reported on the Free Rent incentive for Louth, Horncastle and Spilsby Market Traders,

With no further matters to report or questions raised, Cllr Mr McNally gave his apologies to leave the meeting at 6.49pm.

Item 0521/06 Declarations of Pecuniary Interest in accordance with LGA 2011

None.

Item 0521/07 To Resolve as Minutes the record of the meeting held on 3rd November 2020.

It was proposed by Cllr Mrs Poulter, seconded by Cllr Mrs Benton, and resolved that the Minutes of the meeting held on the 3rd November 2020 were a true record. The Chairman duly signed and dated the Minutes as a true record.

Item 0521/08 Chairman’s Report

The Chairman reported on the BT Phone box. The two small telephone signs have been kept in storage. Research into illumination Defibrillator signs was reported along with costs. The Parish Council Resolved to purchase the signs. Quotes to connect the phone box to a defibrillator will be obtained. BT have given connection instructions. 

Item 0521/09 Clerks Report

An email had been received with interest to become a Parish Councillor. Further checks will be completed and an invitation to attend the next Parish Council meeting will be sent.

Item 0521/10 Parish Councillor Reports

Cllr Mrs Day advised that there were a couple of interested parties in becoming Parish Councillors. 

Item 0521/11 Financial Matters

May 2021 Expenditure: The Tree Guy, Grass-Cutting of Church & Jubilee Field 2020 – £1050.

It was proposed by Cllr Mrs Poulter, seconded by Cllr Mrs Day and resolved to pay the listed expenditure.

It was confirmed that a Grant of £350 has been received, kindly arranged by County Cllr Mr McNally to help with the costs of maintenance of the Jubilee Field due to COVID and unable to host a Fete in 2020.

Item 0521/12 Planning Matters: To Consider the Following Application:

Ref: N/162/00713/21              Applicant: Mr & Mrs.R.Chatterton
Proposal: Planning Permission – Extension to Existing Dwelling to Provide an Orangery.
Location: Greenwood House, East Row, South Somercotes, Nr. Louth, Lincolnshire, LN11 7BN

The Parish Council considered the above application and Resolved to Support the proposals made.

Item 0521/13 Highway/Lighting/Footpath Matters

The footpath near to Ganders Patch and also the footpath joining to some properties along East Row is in need of attention. This was previously reported to County Cllr Mr McNally.

Item 0521/14 Jubilee Field & St. Peters Churchyard

There have been 2/3 enquiries to whether a Fete will be held this year. The Parish Council Resolved not to hold a Fete for 2021. An entry will be placed in the Communication.
 
Item 0521/15 Reports From Outside Bodies

Mr Pauline Jackson then joined the meeting to hand in a letter of interest to the Parish Council in becoming a Parish Councillor.

Item 0521/16 Next Meeting – Tuesday 8th June 2021

The next monthly Parish Council Meeting will be held after the Annual Parish Meeting (APM) and the Annual General Meeting (AGM) all on Tuesday 7th June 2021, commencing at 6:30pm with the APM.

The meetings will be held on a Face-to-Face basis at St. Peters Church, Louth Rd. Face Coverings must still be worn and Social Distancing adhered too.

With there being no further business, the Chairman closed the meeting at 7.01pm.
