Minutes of the Parish Council Meeting held on Monday 1st May 2023 at St. Peter’s Church, Louth Road, South Somercotes

Item 0523/49 Chairman’s Welcome
The Chairman opened the meeting at 6:08pm and welcomed everyone to the monthly meeting.
Item 0523/50 Public Forum
No matters were raised.
Item 0523/51 Apologies & Acceptance for Absence
Apologies had been received and accepted from District Councillor Mr Paul Rickett.
Item 0523/52 Police Matters
No members of the neighbourhood Policing Team were in attendance and no update to provide the Parish Council was received. No matters were raised.
Item 0523/53 District & County Councillor Updates
County & District Cllr Mr McNally reported that he was still awaiting on the ELDC Monitoring Office for details on the possibility of changing the Parish Council to holding an Annual Parish Meeting instead due the lack of interest in standing for standing in the forthcoming Parish Elections. It was likely that appointments would be made to the elected District Councillors to sit as Parish Councillors in the interim in order to make up the numbers for the Parish Council to continue in its current form. In light of upcoming Local Elections, gave thanks for the support over the last term of office as District Councillor.

Item 0523/60 To Resolve as Minutes the record of the meeting held on the 3rd April 2023
It was proposed by the Vice-Chair, Cllr Mrs Day, seconded by Cllr Mrs Benton and resolved that the Minutes of the meeting held on the 3rd April 2023 were a true record. The Chair duly signed and dated the Minutes as a true record.
Item 0523/61 Chairman’s Report
The Chairman reported that he had the signage for the Defibrillator, the cabinet had been collected from the Clerk and will be looking at the BT Kiosk to ensure that the cabinet could be installed with support to ensure safety. A re-paint of the kiosk will be looked at along with opening/closing mechanism of the kiosk door.

Item 0523/63 Parish Councillor Reports
The Vice-Chair, Cllr Mrs Day handed in £5.93 which had been collected from the Book Stall.
Cllr Mrs Jackson reported that everything was in place for the Kings Coronation Celebration Afternoon Tea on Sunday 7th May 2023 2-4pm at St. Peters Church.
Item 0523/64 Financial Matters
Invoice received from Tudor Ground Maintenance for the grass-cutting relating to the Jubilee Field x 2 Cuts £80.00 inc. VAT.
It was proposed by the Vice-Chair Cllr Mrs Day, seconded by Cllr Mrs Jackson and Resolved to pay the above invoice.

No Planning Matters.
Item 0523/66 Highway/Lighting/Footpath Matters
The Vice-Chair, Cllr Mrs Day reported that the pothole on East Row had been marked up for repair.
Item 0523/67 Jubilee Field & St. Peters Church
The Vice-Chair reported that the grass at the front of the Jubilee Field had been cut Saturday.
The grass at St. Peters Church is due to be cut this week and the end of the month.

Item 0523/69 Next Meeting – TBC After Local Elections (Parish)
The next Parish Council Meeting will be confirmed after the Local Elections are held on the 4th May 2023.
With there being no further business, the Chairman closed the meeting at 6:25pm.
