Minutes of the Parish Council Meeting held on Wednesday 26 November 2025 at St. Peter's Church, Louth Road, South Somercotes

Item 0525/28 Welcome to the meeting: Chair opened meeting at 19.01 and welcomed the public.

  • Parishioner mention that the chevrons at the end of East Row are rotten and was advised to report to ww.fixmystreet.com. Clerk has added the link to the website
  • Cloddygate is very poor for cars and advised to report to the county councillor. Clerk to pass on
  • Parishioner complained about another resident who has an untidy drive and has been an eyesore for a long time. Clerk to report to the enforcement officer
  • Last meeting cutting grass plan has been produced graveyard will be over grown it is not acceptable would need a compromise that would suit the community. Plan made by the parishioner to be shared and on agenda for January a circulate and do a tilt test
  • Container – will discuss as it is on the agenda
  • Bank account – struggled with other commitment. Cover in agenda
  • Difficult to know what is going on – can we canvass the whole village. Clerk explained that we can use the noticeboard and website. We also have a regular slot on the Parish magazine. Discussion about doing flyers for the village with parish news and events. Deferred to next meeting.

Proposed, seconded and RESOVLVED extend time by 15 minutes.

  • With the graveyard clan can we take into consideration the still born babies that have been buried at the front of the church as the contractor has parked there on occasion, ask to park on the road.
  • Parking issues on Town Street advise to report on fix my street.
  • Chair asked for volunteers to join the parish council
    • Parishioner who serves on sister council volunteer to temporary measure to help the council
    • Four other people then volunteered to be on the council
    • The first parishioner then stepped down and left the meeting

Item 0525/29 To receive declarations of interest in accordance with the Localism Act 2011 and to consider any requests for dispensations: None

Item 0525/30 Apologies for absence: Cllr Robinson - accepted

Item 0525/31 To approve the draft notes as minutes of the last meeting held on the 2 September 2025: RESOLVED to adopt and sign the notes as accurate minutes, and they were dated and signed by the Chair.

Item 0525/32 Training:  Training available to all Staff and elected Members and clerk recommends councillors to view training schedule.

Item 0525/33 Parish Matters:

  1. Grass cutting Jubilee Field – due to other commitment this has been deferred to the next meeting
  2. Graveyard – notes as per the public session. Insurance of the graveyard need to be considered. Plan to be circulated and discussed and approved at the next meeting.
  3. Bank account authorisation – the bank account needs to take former councillors of the bank account. It was proposed, seconded, and RESOLVED that once the new councillors are coopted one of them will become the authorised signatory, and Mr Baker remains as the only signatory
  4. Container in church – to be left opened for the Christmas events in the church
  5. Precept budget – with the proposed new councillors this was deferred to the January meeting for full discussion and approval
  6. Not on agenda but clerk ask to get the credentials for Facebook page

Item 0525/34 Correspondence: To receive and dispose of correspondence received since the last meeting. None

Item 0525/26 Date of next meeting:  7 January 2026 at 7pm.

Item 0525/27 Financial matters:

  1. To note bank balances on bank statements as of April 2025 £9,358.56
  2. To note income: £51.17 from the book sales given at the last meeting
  3. To authorise the signing of orders for payment for previous months
